My Story

My Background

I started my theatre journey at Brevard College, where I focused on Lighting and Stage Management. I took every opportunity I could to grow my skills and get professional experience while I was there, then began working for a community theater as the primary lighting technician and designer after I graduated. After a brief hiatus due to COVID, I am now in New York, back in the industry, doing more lighting work and crew management.

My Values

Never stop learning. Never allow yourself to fall into complacency.

Get inspired. Create something new and allow yourself to be different.

Collaborate. Always be willing to accept different points of view and accept help.

Create. Strive to love what you do, and others will be enthralled by your passion.

Where I am now

I am the Head Electrician in the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College in New York City.

The Lynch hosts various events from conferences to large opera productions put on by Mannes Opera.

Here, I have the opportunity to expand my design portfolio, as well as upgrade the equipment, pulling the venue into the modern day.

Each event in the Lynch offers a new opportunity for learning and growth.

Services

Lighting Design

My lighting design talent has a large range. I have designed everything from conferences to ballet to slice-of-life comedies.

An effective lighting designer must communicate well with not only the director but the set designer and costume designers as well. Being adaptable to the ever-changing circumstances of a production is also a must for successful lighting designers.

Stage Management

Making a show become a reality is an extremely rewarding task. The stage manager of production needs to have their eyes and hands in every department, as well as running rehearsals and managing the actors. Things will go smoothly with a good stage manager.

A successful production has a stage manager who knows how to effectively communicate with everyone involved.

Head Electrician

Armed with intimate knowledge of lighting and electrical systems, I've loaded in shows with upwards of 200 units, with a team of anywhere from two to eight crew members. I am an expert in assessing a show's needs and utilizing the strengths of my crew to get the lighting up and running.
